What we do
Business Energy Expert helps UK businesses compare electricity and gas prices and avoid overpaying. Enter your postcode and you'll see live quotes for your meter from the suppliers on our panel, with the unit rate, standing charge and contract length for each. Any broker commission is shown in your contract's principal terms before you agree, as Ofgem's rules require.
Why we built it
Business energy isn't price-capped, and most businesses buy it without knowing what a fair price looks like. Too many roll onto expensive out-of-contract rates simply because nobody reminded them to compare. We wanted a service that shows the market as it really is: live wholesale prices, official government price data for every size of business, and supplier information checked against primary sources.
How we check what we publish
- Price data is pulled automatically from DESNZ, Ofgem, Elexon and National Gas Transmission, and every chart shows its source and date.
- Supplier profiles are built from each supplier's own website, Companies House and Ofgem, never from other comparison sites.
- Guides are written from official sources such as Ofgem, HMRC and legislation.gov.uk, and list those sources at the end.

How we make money
We're free for businesses to use. Suppliers pay a commission when a contract is agreed, and it's shown in your contract before you agree. Read exactly how it works.
