Privacy policy

Draft for review. This policy must be checked against how the site and the quote engine actually process data, and completed with the controller's details, before launch.

Who we are

[Legal entity to confirm] ("we", "us") operates businessenergyexpert.com. Contact: hello@businessenergyexpert.com.

What this website collects

You can read every page of this website without giving us any personal information. The postcode box sends your postcode to our comparison partner's quote engine, which opens in your browser.

Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you.

The quote engine

When you use the quote engine, the details you enter (such as your postcode, business name, name, email address and phone number) are collected by our comparison partner so that they can find your meter, look up your current supplier and usage with your permission, show you prices and contact you about your quote. The partner's own privacy notice explains how it uses and protects your data, and it is shown within the quote journey.

To confirm: whether we are a joint controller with the partner, whether we receive any lead data, and the lawful basis and retention periods for anything we receive.
