British Gas Lite is an online-only, fixed-price energy service for small businesses, run by British Gas Business. British Gas says it created Lite in 2018. It is a trading name of British Gas Trading Limited, part of Centrica, rather than a separate supplier.

Worth knowing: British Gas Lite is not a separate supplier: it is a British Gas Business product. The old britishgaslite.co.uk website now redirects to the British Gas Business website.

British Gas Lite does not publish a business phone number. Existing customers can get help through their online account.

Emergencies are not handled by your supplier. If you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. For a power cut, call 105 to reach your local network operator.

British Gas Lite deemed and out-of-contract rates

If your fixed contract ends without a new one in place, or you move into premises supplied by British Gas Lite without agreeing a contract, you'll pay its deemed or out-of-contract rates. These are typically well above fixed contract prices.

If your Lite fixed plan ends without a new contract, you move to the Lite Variable Price Plan. British Gas publishes these out-of-contract rates as a PDF, and the schedule in place when we checked in September 2026 dated from May 2026.
