Good Energy is a renewable electricity and green gas supplier based in Chippenham, founded in 1999. Since April 2025 it has been owned by Esyasoft, which bought Good Energy Group for about £99.4m. It supplies small and large businesses and also works with renewable generators.
Worth knowing: Good Energy changed hands in April 2025, when Esyasoft's takeover completed and its shares left the AIM market. Good Energy says it has kept its name, team and Chippenham headquarters under its new owner.

Good Energy deemed and out-of-contract rates
If your fixed contract ends without a new one in place, or you move into premises supplied by Good Energy without agreeing a contract, you'll pay its deemed or out-of-contract rates. These are typically well above fixed contract prices.
Good Energy publishes its deemed and out-of-contract electricity charges on a single 'Business deemed charges' page, with non-half-hourly rates in linked PDFs. That page did not show gas deemed rates when we checked in September 2026, so ask Good Energy if you need them.
See Good Energy's current published rates
For context: in Q2 2026, UK businesses using up to 20,000 kWh of electricity a year paid an average of 38.36p per kWh all-in, which spreads the standing charge across every unit and includes the Climate Change Levy. A bill shows a unit rate plus a daily standing charge, so use our cost calculator to turn your rates into an all-in figure before comparing. Prices for every business size.
