SEFE Energy, formerly Gazprom Energy, is a business gas and electricity supplier with its UK sales headquarters in Manchester. It supplies over 30,000 organisations in Great Britain and says it became the UK's largest non-domestic gas supplier by volume again in 2026. It is ultimately owned by the German government through SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH.
Worth knowing: SEFE Energy no longer offers new contracts to customers using less than 50,000 kWh of gas or electricity, so if you are a smaller existing customer, check with SEFE what happens when your contract ends. On 31 August 2026 it moved to a new parent company within the SEFE group, SEFE Energy GmbH, and says day-to-day operations are unaffected. Under EU rules, Germany must cut its stake in SEFE to no more than 25% plus one share by the end of 2028.
